Yonex-Sunrise World Badminton championship organisers are in a 24/7 meeting for the safety of the players participating in the week-long badminton tournament to take place in Hyberabad. The badminton tournament will start next month and already players are pouring into the hosting city. It is the safety of these players that the organisers aim to insure.
The organising team comprises of officials from the Badminton World Federation (BWF) and those organisers coming from the host country, India. From Saturday, July 19 ’til Sunday, July 20, the team congregated and stayed late to read and review over and over the security regulations and measures that safeguard the safety of the players and onlookers of the week-long tournament.
Due to the couple of bombings of highly luxurious hotels that occurred at the same time in Jakarta, Indonesa in the South East part of Asia, the team is focused on protecting the participating individuals in the tourney. They have decided not to take things lightly so that such bombings will not occur while the tournament is ongoing.
The players taking part in the tournament are given utmost priority when it comes to security says the team of organisers and game officials. While the games are ongoing security inside and outside the game venue will be very tight, making it harder for terrorists to penetrate and wreak havoc on the game and the city. Teams with 10 players are assigned liaison officers to insure every player’s safety.
They further disclosed that teams travelling in vans to and from the airport and even to and from the game venue will have police vans as escorts.
To further ensure tight security, bomb-sniffing dogs and experts will be deployed outside and inside for a check before the games begin.
