Video Editing Process
16 December 2010
There are three vital stages to video production; pre-production (storyboarding, scripting, creating a shot list), production (filming stage) and post production (editing, grading footage and adding VFX). Editing is a vital component in assembling the final video. The editing process takes the various amounts of recorded footage and slims it down (by cutting, slicing, overlaying and trimming) into a masterlyfinal product. On a fundamental level, video editing is the process of readjusting or transformingclips of video to form part of an entire sequence. The object of video editing is the same as in film editing – the removal of unwanted footage, isolation of desired footage and arrangement of that footage in time to create a consistent and continuous final sequence (called the “final cut”).
Until just recently video editing was only achievable with the help of expensive equipment and a considerable amount of training. Through the traditional “non-linear” editing days Quadruplex videotape was edited by visualising the recorded track with Ferro fluid and physically cutting the film with a razor blade or guillotine cutter and joining it with tape. In this day and age, modern non-linear editing systems use video which is digitally captured onto a hard drive from an analogue or digital video source. On the other hand, despite the end of “linear” editing and introduction of these “non linear” editing systems, video editing still works with the same key principles of motion picture film editing.
With advancements in computers and technology, video editing is a frequently changing environment, fedby the quick development of new hardware and software. Computer video editing software, also known as Non Linear Editing (NLE) composedof application software which handles the entire process of editing video sequences. Using software such as Sony Vegas, Apple’s Final Cut Pro and Adobe’s Premiere, footage is first recorded natively into the proper codec and stored on the computer (this stage is known as “capturing”). The footage is then logged, i.E. The editor makes note of the scene, shot number, take number and any additional information. It is then arranged in folders (“bins”), which is where proper clips (if they are part of the same scene) are grouped as one. Once this stage is completed the editor moves on to the actual cutting of the footage.
NLE software is generally based on a timeline interface where clips are dragged onto a video track and laid out in sequence. They carry a range of tools for trimming, splicing, cutting and arranging clips across the timeline. As digital NLE systems have advanced there are now features for colour manipulation, title animation and visual effects, also including tools for mixing audio. After the Clips have been arranged on the timeline, music tracks and titles added and special effects formed, the final sequence is “rendered” into a finished video. The video is then spread in a various number of ways such as DVD, Blue-ray, web streaming (QuickTime h.264, flv) or even mobile devices (like iPod’s, Blackberry’s).
So Why It’s Better to See Music Performed Live
11 December 2010
Whether it is a rock show or symphony orchestra, it can be generally far better to see songs performed live other than to just listen to it on the recording. You’ll find many points why this is legitimate. Before you even visit the live concert, the build-up and anticipations about the occasion is quite enjoyable. Just possessing those live concert tickets in hand would ensure that you’ll encounter much more now in contrast to if you are sitting in the house experiencing a concert dvd or playing pre-recorded tunes.
The live concert experience is similar to nothing else since you realize that everyone at the event is there for the same reason why and that of which because they are a fan. The shared group occurence is a way for you to connect to others that have equivalent interests. There are a palpable feel with individuals gripping their music seats, waiting to get accessibility for the facility prior to the show even takes place. Once indoors, there is the an opportunity to spend money on remembrances just like t-shirts, buttons and caps, together with glossy, full-color souvenir programs, to always commemorate the event.
Once past the main receiving area, the usher looks at your show passes to find out precisely where you’re sitting and walks you in the right course. Using the lamps still vivid, you will uncover the stage in which was well prepared ahead of time or can even be in the procedure to be setup for any show, replete by having mics, musical equipment, sound system, video projection screens and lighting effects. Music setting the mood for the show booms overhead.
When the lights go down, we all know it to be time for the show to begin. If the music group or performers come on stage, the audience will go crazy with people clapping, shouting and cheering. Nearly everybody who purchased tunes seat tickets to the show eventually gets to observe, face-to-face, the individuals they’ve already, up to this time, only observed in graphics or video tutorials. If they strike that first familiar cord, you you can forget everything else as you concentrate with the show.
By having music conducted live, you often be able to hear sounds you’ve got paid attention to repeatedly now played in a somewhat new way. Because it is a live show, the band will sometimes tweak the songs a bit differently than the way they laid out the tracks in the recording studio. Not to mention, the acoustics of the facility will also affect the sound. During a live music show, the band may also extend certain musical portions of a song so that the guitarist can showcase their playing ability or so the drummer can have a solo, while the rest of the band takes a quick break. As if that is not enough, the band members will also speak directly to the audience. Because there are so many reasons why it’s better to see music performed live, the best way to appreciate the experience for yourself is to pick up some concert tickets, grab a few friends and head to the scene.

Mets Fans Go Gaga for Wright
20 June 2010
The Mets may have their most recent mascot, of sorts, and it could be Lady Gaga. The stir made by Lady Gaga’s appearance at Citi Field complete with her middle-finger salute to photographers isn’t dying down, in part as the Mets aren’t permitting it to.
The Mets are using Lady Gaga’s visit as a promoting tool to push their star player. On Wed., the Mets will be hosting a Mets Fans Go Gaga for Wright promotion in which the first twenty thousand spectators will get a blue froth finger inspiring fans to use the right finger to click online and vote for David Wright as the nation’s League’s beginning 3rd baseman in the All-Star Game on July thirteen in Anaheim, Calif. (Possibly, the froth fingers may not be making a vulgar gesture.) Lady Gaga wore a skimpy outfit to a Mets game earlier in the month and showed her disenchantment with photographers who attempted to snap her picture. The pictures have been widely circulated on the internet. A confessed Yankee fan, Lady Gaga was also spotted at Yankee Stadium on Fri. at the opening game of this weekend’s Subway Series. Though her appearance in the Bronx made much less buzz, she allegedly had an opportunity to meet with Alex Rodriguez and Robinson Cano.
As for Wright, he’s tied for 1st in the N.L. With 53 runs batted in, and he’s batting .283 with twelve home runs. No word on what Lady Gaga thinks of the promotion or whether she recommends Wright for the All-Star Game.

A Compact look at Pipe Organs.
8 March 2010
For those who listen to pipe organs. Specifically hearing a live pipe organ, or enjoying the pipe organs with earbuds can be amazing. It may be an acquired taste, but pipe organ music is very significant. On one side, the music of pipe organs fill people with various feelings, and on the other side, pipe organs changed how music has changed over time. This article will discuss some of the organ types and considerations about organs.
Many of the most famous pipe organ composers were from the Baroque era. Of them the most known may be Johann Sebastian Bach. Bach wrote some of the most better-known pieces of organ music. Many people feel that the Fuge in G Major was his best work. Other remarkable composers include Johann Pachelbel and Dietrich Buxtehude. Playing the pipe organ can be a wonderful skill and experience that can enrich anyone’s life. Some of the youngsters in our community play the pipe organ at an young age. Not only does this give children something to be proud of, but this also assists them with fine motor skill development. Playing the pipe organ can also help to reduce stress.
Historic pipe organs used a slider, and it was not until later that the keyboard was incorporated. Organs did have keyboards in the Baroque period of time back in the time of Bach. Pipe organs also have a pedalboard which is played by the feet. There are several types of organs, some of them are rather stunning. Some pipe organs priced over $100,000. Today, many churches choose electric organs to keep the cost down. It is still simple to see that a true pipe organ still gives the greatest quality sound.
While playing a pipe organ can be challenging, tuning a pipe organ is a task that requires an expert technician who knows this complicated process. A little noted fact is that in the past there was no pitch standard. The modern tuning standard was suggested in 1939. Although varying from the standard is not uncommon, tuners now ordinarily standardize to the A=440 Hz mark. As the need for pipe organs have changed over time, so has the way pipe organ builders adapt so they canbuild a pipe organ to service our needs. Some might marvel what they will evolve to in the years to come.

Antique Pianos by Ibach and Nunns
13 September 2009
Johannes Ibach, maker of antique pianos, studied with several of the best masters of Germany and returned home a master of the art of piano and organ manufacturing. He remodeled the great organ at Beyenburg with excellence. Soon after, his entire attention was spent on pianos. At fifty nine, because of health, he gave his business to his son, Carl, who did well with the business. He attended World Fairs and traveled, promoting his pianos, and receiving honors for them. Rudolf took over from his father, naming the company Rudolf Ibach Sohn. He soon had to enlarge the factory to keep up with demand for the Ibach pianos. Because of Ibach exquisite designs, other piano makers found it profitable to follow the Ibach example. Walter studied felt and hammer making and joined his father Rudolf in the company. Later Rudol’s sons joined the company.
Johannes Ibach started making pianos near Barmen in 1794. The house of Ibach has been in the front rank for artistry in antique piano case design. Their “Memorial”, published in 1894, marked the one hundredth anniversary of the founding of their firm, containing an excellent and collection of designs.
Nunns Piano Company, another producer of antique pianos, was operated by two sons of Charles S. Fischer and were taught piano making in Vienna. They, John and Charles, became expert antique piano makers. They came to New York City in 1839, where they immediately began working with William Nunns. Soon they were partners in Nunns and Fischer. Nunns retired in 1840, and then the name became J. and C. Fischer. The sons of Charles came into the business. They became great producers of pianos, always improving the quality. William Steinway came to New York with a good knowledge of English and French, and played the piano acceptably. He had a musical ear and could tune a three stringed grand piano to perfection. He chose to learn piano making and apprenticed to William Nunns Company, one of the best known New York piano firms of the time.
