Now, I cannot say I’m terribly comfortable as an “independent” (aka: naturally single) person and not be lying. Even then, I’m not uncomfortable with the reality of life, either. I just bring it up here as an ear-catching piece of info foreshadowing what I am prepared to reveal to you

This time last week yours truly was talking to Corey, pondering about buying a membership to a dating service for Phoenix singles. As of this minute, I write to you as a delightfully single member of the matchmaking service. Totally, it’s true. It’s great! If you have read my old blog, perhaps you’re thinkin’, “You totally owe me an explanation.”

Here’s how it went down, I saw these Great Expectations Reviews and can really get behind their approach. They’re for the serious singles who think dating doesn’t have to be so frivolous and stupid.

Because in all honesty I’d never been a fan of the ridiculous nightlife ritual most people have christened “The Dating Game.” I got it more than anyone should. Each night people pester, “Are you seeing somebody?” and “Just get out there and date him!”

“Nonsense,” I banter right back, without missing a beat. “Take a look around, I’m not missing much.”

“Not true,” they say. “You have no way to know that!”

That’s just my best friend The One-And-Only :-P Stacey Feldman. She sets common sense to my mind 99% of the time. Loved ones I depend on . She made a good point, and I thank her for it.

Back to the meaning of this blog entry. As I picked from thousands of combinations of outfits for my first singles event with Great Expectations, I acknowledged something honest. For the longest time, I hadn’t had any actual great expectations for dating and myself in the serendipitous journey of being human. It’s good to be single, especially with healthy optimism. Holding great expectations does wonders for those who believe.

There are two ways to start your day. The first is to dive in; tackling whatever is in front of you. You might check your emails. This is an interesting beginning as it is always possible something fun and new came in since you last looked.

Next thing you know you are deeply involved, answering all your mail. Some messages require thought; others require action, either research, interaction with others, or decision making. It is natural to attempt to take care of these mails, as they are right in front of you. You feel hungry, look up and it is mid morning. You have just spent a quarter of your day dealing with emails!

Another scenario is firefighting. Firefighting is the act of facing and finding quick fix solutions for all the emergency situations that seem to be coming at you from unknown sources. These urgent problems can also eat up an alarming amount of your work day.

Let’s look at an alternative method of beginning your day. First, remember that this day is a gift. You have the choice what to do with it. Why not choose to do the important -but-not urgent tasks first? These are the tasks that will advance your life goals, and ensure success for you as you have defined it. If you do not prioritize and do these tasks first, you will almost certainly fail to do them.

Here is how.

1. Define where you want to be in 3-5 years. Now list the steps it will take to get you there. Break these steps down into yearly goals, then monthly and finally weekly. Take the time to plan your life!

2. At the beginning of your day, pull out your weekly goals. What will you do today to advance your weekly goal? List this (these) tasks.

3. Scan your emails – don’t read them! You will get bogged down! Also, scan your phone messages, faxes inbox and anywhere else you receive communication. The goal is to get an idea of what new items will require your attention today.

You have spent 30-45 minutes of your day. You have gathered up the information required to plan your day, you know what you have to do, and are already planning it in your mind. You don’t have to worry about forgetting something important.

4. On a clean sheet of paper, or index cards, prioritize 10 -15 things you intend to accomplish before the end of the day. Be realistic. You will not be able to do much more than this. From the 10-15 highlight 4 or 5 items that are important-but-not urgent and critical to your long term goals. Prioritize these items first, and then follow with the remaining items in some sort of order. Put an estimated time to complete each item beside it. At the end of the day, your review of what got done and the actual time it took will be a great education and experience for future planning. With practice, this skill will serve you well.

5. Now do one of your highlighted tasks, preferably one you enjoy.

You have now spent approximately 90 minutes of your day. You have achieved a step towards your 3-5 year plan. (Imagine what a constant daily step towards your goal will produce!) You know how your day will play out (for the most part), and you are comfortable knowing you have not missed anything of importance.

If you begin to do the important-but-not urgent items on a daily basis, you will find less urgent items surprising you. The feeling and knowledge of achievement will be encouragement for you to continue to strengthen your skills in this area.

There you have two ways to begin your day. Your choice!

Choosing a Pond or Fountain Light: LED or Halogen?

Basically, there are two kinds of lights available for ponds, halogen lights (which have been around for quite a while), and LED, which are more recent developments. Here are some differences between the two. Note that here we are addressing 12volt systems only.

Some advantages of LED:

Focused light
Solidly built and hard to break, durable
Last twice as long as best fluorescent bulbs and 20 times longer than incandescent bulbs LEDs also are more efficient per watt, produce greater lumens per watt than incandescents or halogen bulbs. LEDs can be built in a number of colors so do not require a filter, which greatly reduces efficiency of light. Finally, LEDs run cooler and are less likely to warm the pond or for their seals to get damaged because of the cooler running temperatures.

Some Disadvantages:

LED lights are still quite expensive and it is taking a while for the price to drop. Also, it is difficult to find an LED system that produces high wattage. Fountain Tech produces the highest pond light wattage we know of at 8 watts per light fixture. And a total of 130 separate LEDs are used in the fixture to do this!

Halogen:

Some Advantages

These are good lights, not as durable as LEDs but pretty durable all in all. The most common sizes are 10 watt, 20 watt, 35 and 50, though you can also find 75 watt lights. You can usually buy lens covers to change the color of the light, though lens filters do reduce the luminosity a great deal. In general, it is more efficient to use colored bulbs. Still, you will find less light from a colored bulb than a clear one. LED is the way to keep luminosity efficient when using colored light. You can find a good selection of both at Cheap Pumps.
Some Disadvantages:

These light bulbs don’t last nearly as long as LEDs, though they still last a long time. They burn quite hot and sometimes the high temperatures burn the O-rings and the fixtures leak.

About transformers:

Transformers that will be used outside (as almost all will!) really need a 3-prong plug. Beware of the “for indoor use only” transformer as, in order to find an indoor plug and then run the cable to your fixture outdoors these are often more trouble than the price savings is worth. Find a UL-approved transformer that can be used in or out of doors. That’s our recommendation.

If you have followed our reports in crude and unleaded gas you will have taken this trade and made a huge profit already.

Here we will show you how to protect this profit, bank it when the time comes and look at another trade that has even bigger profit potential!

So lets look a crude and unleaded gas and how to maximise what you have.

Unleaded Gasoline

Unleaded gas is the leader of the pack and has punched its way out to new highs and crude is lagging but in firm up trend

Rule Of trading!

Breakouts either accelerate quickly or quickly fall away. This one has moved strongly away from the breakout point and odds favour continuation of the trend. To lock in profit put stop below Wednesday’s low

Another feature of these markets is traders like to buy them into the weekend, which could help the breakout even more

Now simply sit back and enjoy the ride

Note: Many traders did not catch the break to the upside they simply got nervous as market tried to breakout but stochastics supported the move and that’s why we have stayed in.

Any traders who have bought this breakout for fresh positions stop remains same

Natural Gas

Looks very weak and is factoring all the good news possible. Were fighting to hold lows but long term this contract is out and out bullish see our other articles on this for reasons why

When it does break 100% gains can be made or more in the next 6 months.

When do you get on board?

Simply wait for lows to hold and time your move with stochastic momentum. We will take a look at this in greater depth in future articles.

Keep in mind hurricanes and hot weather these will be catalyst short term for big move up

If you have followed our trades you have fantastic profits in unleaded and crude let’s see if natural gas can do the same.

Were excited about this one – stay tuned!

Before one decides to sell his structured settlement for another investment opportunity; it is worthwhile to consider the pros and cons of such an action. The most important advantages of structured settlements include regular payments that are free from income tax and are secured by state and federal laws. This cannot be said of many other investment options. Structured settlements can also be invested in government schemes that may offer low returns but are guaranteed.

The main reason for an individual opting for another investment vehicle is the apparent high returns from that investment option. These options include stocks and real estate. One should compare the pre-tax income from an alternative investment source to that from a structured settlement. Also, the process of selling a structured settlement involves a cost. This is because the amount of settlement payment sold is more than the lump sum obtained. This cost should be factored and compared to the returns from another investment.

An important advantage of a structured settlement is that the individual is not required to manage the settlement payments. No taxes mean freedom from keeping abreast of tax laws. With any other form of investment, a person has to first be confident enough of managing his own investment portfolio and control his finances.

If one has the necessary experience and skills to run a business, lump sum obtained from the sale of a structured settlement can be used as capital. However, since the amount obtained is less than the value of the settlements sold, one should ideally try and sell as little of the structured settlement as possible. The assurance of regular income as guaranteed by a structured settlement should be traded for another investment option only after due consultation with an attorney. In fact, legal advice on the sale of structured settlement is a pre-requisite in several states in America.

One advantage that other investment options offer is the freedom of managing one’s own money; this can be of use to those who are into financial trading and have their fingers on the market pulse. With ready cash in their hand, they can invest immediately when opportunity presents itself.

It’s the Golden Rule of copywriting. “Know your target audience.” It is impossible to persuade someone you know nothing about to take any type of action. But the question remains: How – exactly – do you get to know your prospective customers?

For copywriters, this task is the most time-consuming. When you’re faced with making a connection with someone you’ve never met, it can be frustrating. That’s why I was excited when I found out about a series of reports entitled “Words That Sell” (see: http://www.copywritingcourse.com/wordswork.html.)

How would you like it if someone else did the hard part for you? Then take heart! The people at The Brooks Group (publishers of these reports) interviewed hundreds of professionals in a wide range of occupations to get the specific information included in the ebooks.

These reports target people in 38 different industries in detail including medical professionals, chief executives, entrepreneurs, human resources, dentists, doctors, hospital administrators, engineers, real estate managers and so many others. What do they deliver? Details. Exact details about what words work, what words don’t and why.

What’s Good About These Reports

A lot of research went into the making of these reports. It took years to interview countless professionals then compile and sort the data. Then the creators of the reports developed easy-to-read ebooks written in everyday language for each profession. Inside you get:

background and personality profile
psychological profile
exact wording to use
reasoning behind why some words work and some words don’t
exact wording NOT to use
sample letters, headlines and copy to use
and more

You get a lot of information in each report. These are not just 5- to 8-page lists of words to use. Each report is 20-25 pages long and has insightful, specific information that will make your job as a copywriter go much more smoothly and quickly.

I also liked that I could buy each report individually or in “combo” packages for a discount. That way, if I need just one, I only have to pay a small price.

These reports are quick to read, and for busy copywriters, that’s a real blessing. I find myself going back to them over and over and – because of the simple layout – I can get the information I need quickly without having to reread the entire report again.

What’s Not So Good About These Reports

They need more examples. Yes, you do get examples of how to use the information, but more would be nice. (Can we ever get enough examples?) The examples given are definitely suitable, but could be more “real world.” They seem rather elementary to me.

Also, it would have been my preference to include a table of contents with clickable navigation links. A minor point? Maybe, but when you use the reports, as much as I do, it would save a great deal of time over the long run.

Overall, the Words That Sell reports (http://www.copywritingcourse.com/wordswork.html) are a huge timesaving tool. They are interesting, accurate and very useful. The sales copy claims you’ll double, triple or even quadruple your profits. I can’t attest to the quadruple part, but I have seen the use of the information in these reports double and triple sales for some of my clients.

Are they worth the $28 (each) price? Absolutely! They’ll save you way more than $28 in research and brainstorming time, and you’ll have a powerful new tool for converting lookers into buyers for 38 different industries.

Most job seekers put a lot of work into creating a résumé or CV, as indeed they should. But most of them then treat the accompanying cover letter as a formality – and that’s a tactical error. Most people simply don’t understand the role of a cover letter or the art of selling, and therefore most letters are weak.

Six common mistakes include:

1. Does your cover letter essentially say no more than “My résumé or CV is attached”? If well-crafted, your cover letter is a key selling tool that can dramatically improve your chances of getting job interviews.

2. Do you have one cover letter that you use for many different jobs on offer? One of the roles of a cover letter is to personalize your résumé or CV for a specific employer and job opportunity, so you’ll need to create individual cover letters for each position for which you’ll be applying.

3. Does your cover letter load up on complimentary adjectives, such as “highly motivated” … “exceptional” … “proactive” … “dynamic” … “hard-working” … “customer-focused” … “outstanding” … “inspirational” … “excellent” and similar words? Adjectives are the weakest tool for persuasion. Employers will be looking for men and women of action, those who can and do get things done. You’ll get much more selling power by using action words (i.e. verbs) liberally.

4. Does your cover letter load up on complimentary buzz phrases, such as “a natural leader” … “works well in a team as well as on own initiative” … “proven track record” … “strategic thinker” and similar statements? Such overused clichés are tiresome for an employer to see repeated over and over and they say nothing specific about what you can actually do (or why you would be a better choice than one of the dozens of other applicants who are also claiming to be strategic thinkers and natural leaders with proven track records). They further insult the recipient’s intelligence by implying that you actually think that they are nave enough to be impressed with zero substance. Such buzz phrases are the hiring equivalent of the cheesy pick-up lines that you can find on the Internet, and they’re equally ineffective.

5. Is your cover letter written entirely in a narrative style (as most other letters are)? Employers get a lot of résumés, CVs and cover letters and they’re usually extremely busy (that’s why they’re hiring). They will not take the time to read everything in your cover letter (and résumé or CV) just because you provided lots of content. Rather, they’ll typically give your résumé or CV up to 20 seconds and your cover letter up to five seconds before making their decision to keep you in the stack or drop you in the waste basket. That isn’t enough time for employers to get through much content unless you present it to accommodate their reviewing approach.

6. Does your cover letter look well-organised, concise and business-like? The fact that employers put upper limits on review time for résumés, CVs, and cover letters doesn’t mean that you’ll get the full allotment. It’s quite common for an employer to decide “I’ve seen enough” in as little as one or two seconds if your documents aren’t impressive at first glance. Since your cover letter is the first thing employers see, it bears the burden of making that all-important “good first impression”.

Relatively few job-seekers realize the importance of the cover letter and fewer still understand how to craft an effective one. Therefore, learning how to design a strong cover letter is often the single most effective way for most job seekers to boost their odds of getting picked for job interviews.

You may have created and established the best Web site in
the world, however if the world does not know it is there,
it will not do your business any good. As a result, knowing
how to market your site and getting your site noticed is
incredibly important to the success of your business and
something you will want to concentrate your efforts on.

Fortunately, getting your site noticed is not expensive so
marketing on a tight budget does not mean you can’t get
quality exposure.

One of the first things you will want to do is pack your
Web page full of keywords that people might use when
searching for information contained in your site. The more
keywords you have, or keyword phrases someone might use,
the more often your site will be returned as a result for
the person searching. You want to be in the top 5 results
posted as often as possible,
so being diligent about keywords and keyword phrases will
help direct more traffic to your web site.

Also, once you have packed your page full of useful
information and as many keywords as you and your thesaurus
can think of, you will want to upload your URL to various
search engines like Yahoo, Google, Excite, Alta Vista, and
any specialized search engines that focus on your
particular business or service. By including more keywords
on your web site, when the search engines are searching for
sites pertaining to the keywords entered in the search
engine, your page will be listed as a higher result than
others. This is very important because people generally
check the first few web sites results and skip the others
if they find the information they were looking. However,
make sure the information you provide on your site is
useful and you don’t just have a string of keywords to
attract people to your page. If you have useful information
about a product or service, people will look around. If all
you have is a bunch of keywords and nothing that actually
pertains to what the individual is looking for, they will
leave and never come back. So, be alert to what you are
offering potential customers and attentive to the way you
bring them to your page.

If you have done all of the above, and are still interested
in more traffic, then consider marketing your site on other
related or non related sites by banners and the like. This
is a way of letting individuals know about your product
that might not be aware of it to even search for it. By
advertising in this way you are reaching a sector of
individuals who want and need your product, but were never
aware of it.

There are multiple ways to market and of getting your web
site noticed, just make sure you do it in a responsible
way. Internet users are fed up with pop up ads, Spam e-mail
and other unsolicited information. For instance, many
people now have programs that block pop up ads, which means
you are not even marketing. Finally, you don’t want to
anger potential customers or have them close off their mind
to your product, so be creative when you are marketing,
aggressive and always respectful of current and future
clients.
