Need A Vacuum Cleaner? Best Rated Vacuums Can Be Found
30 April 2009
So which cleaning system gets the vote of vacuum cleaner best rated? Though it isn’t difficult to locate, especially with the help of the Internet, a vacuum cleaners rating, it seems that very few of the ratings and reviews agree. As is the wont of we fickle humans, it seems that vacuum cleaner best rated depends largely on personal preference.
It is very difficult to identify one vacuum cleaner best rated, though the job becomes easier when categories of vacuum cleaner are introduced. While opinions in any vacuum cleaner consumer rating differ on whether a bagged or bagless vacuum is best, there are trends within each category that help narrow down the contenders for vacuum cleaner best rated. In the bagless category, the high profile Dyson vacuums are often thought to be the vacuum cleaner best rated, but many expert reviews and vacuum cleaner consumer rating do not bear this out. It is the perhaps lesser-known Bissell brand of vacuum that frequently receives a high vacuum cleaners rating.
In the bagged category, other perhaps less well-known manufacturers are voted vacuum cleaner best rated, with makers Kenmore and Eureka rating ahead of other names. Across both bagged and bagless vacuum categories a number of other cleaning requirements must be addressed, such as the size of the area that will need to be cleaned, and how much use will be required. Vacuum price must also be a consideration when assigning a vacuum cleaners rating, as you really do get what you pay for. Once again, it is Bissell that does well as vacuum cleaner best rated in terms of price, but if you have more money to spend on a cleaner, brands like Oreck and Kirby receive a high vacuum cleaner consumer rating.
Unfortunately for consumers, it is difficult to cite one cleaner as vacuum cleaner best rated, but with the help of a reliable vacuum cleaner consumer rating, it is possible to narrow down the list of vacuum contenders. Be sure to review the vacuum cleaners rating of any cleaner before you purchase, and be sure to make a list of your own cleaning requirements to help you determine your own personal vacuum cleaner best rated.

Writing Resumes
30 April 2009
How do you think employers select a resume for inviting a job applicant for an interview? They choose based on personal appearance and disposition, the way a person communicates, and by skills, knowledge and experience. How can skills, knowledge and experience be ascertained? Resumes are key. They show an employer what you’ve done, how long you’ve done it, and whether it pertains to the open position.
First of all, the job applicant must give their contact address along with their email, as the first point of contact. Later, the job applicant needs to explain their skill set, apart from their level of education, awareness about various processes associated with the job, and other details. While giving personal details, the candidate must keep in mind the need for giving all the information in a clear manner and explaining the reasons behind seeking a better job. The lucid explanation follows a top down order. However, lying about educational qualifications will disqualify the candidate in the first round.
Apart from this, attention should be given to providing samples about extracurricular achievements, such as sport and music. This will give a fuller profile of a candidate. Similarly, the job applicant must focus on giving details on how their additional qualifications were acquired. Such details naturally make the resume readable, and it also makes the presentation of information easy during interviews. Applicants for technical jobs must explain what projects they worked on while in college.
Have patience and give full details of your qualifications without any false information. A strong resume will help to get the required placement easily.

Busy, Working Parents — 22 Ways To Homeschool Your Kids
30 April 2009
If you’re a single parent or a married couple on a tight budget so that both parents have to work, you may worry about finding the time and energy to homeschool your children, but it can be done. It comes down to planning and scheduling your time.
Most home-schooling parents teach their children about two to four hours a day and turn out well-educated kids. So the problem is how to squeeze in about ten to twenty hours a week for home-schooling. Here are some suggestions:
1. Can you change your work schedule so that you can work in the afternoon or at night and teach your children in the morning?
2. Can you work part time, leaving yourself time for home-schooling?
3. Can you find a job in your local neighborhood so that you don’t waste one to three hours commut-ing every day?
4. Can you work from home? Computers, the Internet, fax machines, and e-mail all make working from home relatively easy. Thousands of companies now offer this option to their workers. You could of-fer to work for slightly less money if your boss resists this arrangement.
5. Can you start a simple-to-run home business that would give you more free time.
6. Can you do all your home-schooling on weekends? If you can arrange concentrated six-to-ten-hour sessions on Saturday and Sunday, you’ll be free to work at your job during the rest of the week. Or you might try a combination of weekday and weekend home-schooling sessions.
7. If you have no other alternatives, home-schooling could be done in the evening, say from 7 to 10 P.M., or a combination of weekday nights and weekend sessions. 8. If you’re married, get your husband or wife to help with the workload. Both parents should be in-volved in home-schooling if possible.
In my book, “Public Schools, Public Menace,” I describe 22 ways that parents can homeschool their children, even if both parents work. Almost a million parents now homeschool their kids, and most of these parents work. You can do the same.

Omaha Poker 8 or Better Tips
30 April 2009
With all the T.V. exposure no limit hold has received I have seen a significant drop in the number of “other” poker games, such as Omaha Hi/Low and Omaha Hi only. These were some of the best games in the house with pots four times the size of hold em games and that was the norm. They were also some of the most profitable to play in if you had the right tools at your disposal.
For those of you who don’t know, a high low game is normally played eight or better, meaning you must have five non-paired cards eight and lower. A “wheel”, Ace to 5, is the best possible low followed by a 6-432A. The straight hands go both ways and may scoop the entire pot. The pot is normally divided in two halves, a high side and a low side. So if you had a wheel in your hand you would be assured of winning some money back. You might have to share it with other players who also have a wheel, a very common occurrence. You hand may be very powerful if you had a flush with your wheel, the higher the better of course. Omaha 8 or better is a flop based game where you receive four hole cards and must play two from your hand to make a hand.
To play the game well you need some basics. First, play four cards that work together. An A234 would be a great low hand if you were suited with your ace. AK23 is a great two way hand also if you were suited with either the A or K. AKQ2 is a great two way hand as well, but much better on the high side and stronger still if you had suited or double suited cards. Many players will say that you should go for low all the time and throw away the high hands. Sorry folks, that would be a recipe for disaster. The high side scoops the entire pot if there is no low, isn’t that better than the probable half a pot if there is a low possible. Many boards need a low card on the river for there to be a low and every time they miss someone with a high hand scoops the pot. The hands listed above should all be raised preflop, another mistake the average Omaha player makes is that they for some odd reason like to see flops cheap with bad hands and a profit player will exploit this. These same bad players will see that flop no matter what. They will take those bad cards and call a capped pot in hopes of the deck jumping up and kissing them on the cheek with a magic flop. This doesn’t happen very often though.
Remember to play with four cards that work together and always, always, always have an Ace in your hand. The other three cards should be paint, a K, Q, J or 10 or wheel cards, a deuce, trey, four or five or some combination of the two groups. Go for the high side when ever there is a single or no low card on the flop and fit your hand to the flop or fold. One last thing, draw to the nuts, on either the high or low side or at least be aware if you don’t you’ll gambling.

Canvas Printing
29 April 2009
Copyright 2006 Peter Horner
Canvas is the most popular of all art media. Fine art reproductions, contemporary art, abstract art, original paintings and digital photos can be turned into canvas prints.
Printing on fine art materials such as canvas and watercolour papers is often referred to as Giclee. The French term “Giclée” (pronounced zhee-clay) means to spray or squirt, which is how an inkjet printer works. However, it is not the same as a standard desktop inkjet printer, and is much larger at over a meter wide.
Canvas prints created using the giclee printing process provide better colour accuracy than other means of reproduction to satisfy the uncompromising print quality pursued by the worlds leading artists and photographers in creating masterpieces. Prints are created using professional 8 or 12 colour ink-jet printers made by manufactures such as Epson and Hewlett-Packard. Special light-fast inks are used, which will remain true for up to 75 years. These printers are capable of producing incredibly detailed prints for both the fine art and photographic markets. Using rolls of canvas, printers can produce prints up to 44″ in width and unlimited length. Even artists can have a hard time telling the original from the copy when printed at a high resolution of 2880 dpi.
Canvas printing offer artists and photographers many advantages. If you’re an artist you’ll put a lot of time and effort into a painting and experience joy selling it, but when it’s sold you have to start all over again. Digitally archiving images allows artists to sell images over and over again, at a reduced price and share art works with many people. Digitally archiving images will also means that your originals will not deteriorate in quality as films and negatives do. Giclee printing has also become popular with photographers who are applying their pictures to stretched canvas and other digital art papers to give images a whole new quality. Photographers find the soft, painterly quality of giclee printed photographs on canvas to be very appealing. Subtle colours and details in photos can be reproduced without losing them as you would with traditional photographic glossy prints. Digital images can also be reproduced to any size and onto other forms of media using giclee printing.
Significant advances in giclee inks have resulted in prints with broader, more saturated colour ranges and longevity. Epson are one manufacturer of giclee inks who make light fastness claims that their UltraChrome pigment based inks last in excess of 75 years. Epson’s pigment based inks use eight individual colours, including black (photo or matte), light black, cyan, light cyan, magenta, light magenta, and yellow. A common misconception is that all inkjet inks are archival inks. Pigment-based inks last a lot longer than dye-based. Even special UV stable dye inks used for fine art may fade as quickly as 13 years. Under the right conditions new dye-based inks on the market may last as long as 60 years, but there is significant loss of colour range and they only provide longevity on certain print medias. There are reputable companies offering art reproduction using inks that will fade in as little as a year, and unfortunately some of these printers don’t inform their customers. Its important that consumers have all the information they can get, so that artists and photographers can make an intelligent and informed decision, and can be sure prints will last.
Polyester fabric was first invented in England in 1941 by British scientists John Whinfield and James Dickson. However, it wasn’t until 1950 that an American company named Dupont began to manufacture polyester in the United States.
Polyester fabric is characterized by its ability to resist both fading and shrinkage, making it the most widely used fabric in the manufacturing of clothing since 1960. It also became a popular choice in the production of tablecloths, chair covers, placemats, table skirting and aprons. As well received as it was for clothing and home décor, it was not the best choice for napkins. It was found that napkins made of 100% polyester lacked absorption and did not have the feel of cotton associated with expensive table linen.
Enter spun polyester. Spun Polyester was initially developed for industrial use and home furnishings. When Johnson Industries tried to develop a spun polyester they could use in boat covers they actually ended up with a fabric that was lighter in weight with an improved feel to it. They also found that dying made the fabric even softer. This was a fabric that would be perfect for tablecloths.
Johnston Industries felt so strongly about their discovery that they discontinued the development of boat covers. Bob Pomeranz, an expert in textiles, took on the project of improving spun polyester at Johnston Industries. His expert knowledge of spinning machines allowed him to spin a fabric free from pilling, the irritating fiber clusters that detract from a cloth’s appearance. The end result was a durable tablecloth that would keeps it color, release soil and not shrink.
Tablecloths made of spun polyester could now possess the texture of cotton fabrics and most importantly, unlike cotton, a spun poly tablecloth would not fade after numerous washings. As a rule, the more you washed a spun polyester tablecloth the softer and better it would feel to the touch.
Over time the textile industry began to use spun polyester for chair covers, placemats, table skirting, aprons and even napkins. In fact, where napkins made of 100% polyester lacked absorption-spun polyester napkins did not.
Both 100% polyester and spun polyester have their place, not just in the home, but in hotels, nursing homes, hospitals and the party rental industry as well.
A Guide To Balding Men’s Hairstyles
29 April 2009
It’s unbelievable how difficult it is to find any decent information on the internet about balding men’s hairstyles.
You’ll know this yourself if you’ve ever tried to do a search on Google for ‘balding men’s hairstyles’, ‘hairstyles for balding men’, ‘balding hairstyles’ or any other amount of variations on the theme.
This is surprising considering how many balding men there are who deserve a decent hairstyle as much as any one else…
So… faced with this injustice I’ve put together my own guide to balding men’s hairstyles…
It’s a fact that 95% of all balding or bald men suffer from male pattern baldness. Male pattern baldness usually starts with a receding hairline at the front and is frequently accompanied with thinning at the top.
Over time, this thinning turns into a full fledged bald spot, and the bald spot grows to cover the head, apart from the sides and around the back.
Regardless of this, as long as there is a single hair left on my head I’ll still demand a stylish coiffure. So, what balding hairstyle options are available?
The worst balding men’s hairstyle is the comb over. This is the classic look beloved of men of a certain age whereby the hair is grown longer on one side of the head and ‘combed over’ the bald area to the other side.
This strategy only spells disaster even in the slightest of breezes and is to be avoided at all costs.
But assuming you already know this, what are the other do’s and don’ts to balding men’s hairstyles?
The first common mistake is combing the hair straight back. This may cover bald spots, but it only exposes the forehead and draws attention to the receding hairline.
The second is growing your hair longer at the back to make up for what’s lacking on top. This unbalances the head and draws even more attention to the scalp and the baldness.
Younger men with thinning hair might be tempted to use gel… but this isn’t recommended. Gel clumps your hair together and reveals the scalp.
Likewise, growing your hair long in an attempt to cover up actually causes hair to separate and show more scalp.
So, what are the do’s?
Get more natural looking fluff to your hair by using mousses and conditioners.
Grow your remaining hair by a few inches, get it layered and brush it forward to break up the receding hairline.
If your hairline isn’t receding too badly, but the top of your head is thinning, you can get away with keeping the front long and combing your hair straight back to cover the bald spot.
Eventually however, your bald spot will expand.
The ultimate balding men’s hairstyle when faced with a shiny bald dome, is to go the whole hog and shave it off or at least a very close trim.
You’ll probably be amazed at people’s reactions and the compliments you’ll get – the shaved look is a totally acceptable balding hairstyle these days.
Start with electric clippers like you find in the barbers. After you’ve clipped the heavy stuff, lather up with shaving gel. This gives you a closer, smoother shave than shaving cream.
Then using a razor, start at the top and shave down with the grain taking care at the back – it’s recommended to watch what you’re doing with a small mirror.
Shaving your head only takes a few minutes and you don’t need to do it every day (two to three times a week is fine).
Taking care of your new shaved head is much like taking care of your face. Wash regularly with moisturizing soap, rather than a harsh deodorant soap that can dry out the skin on your head.
Also use a good quality moisturizer after every wash – cheaper moisturizers will just clog up your pores.
For the summer, find a moisturizer with a sun protection factor of at least 15 to avoid sunburn on your head. And you’ll need a warm hat in winter to maintain your body heat.
If shaving doesn’t tickle your fancy then you can always opt for a hairpiece as a last resort – though I wouldn’t recommend it

Easy Lawn Care – Use Clover – Ditch the Pesticide
29 April 2009
Low-Maintenance Lawn Care
Having a nice looking lawn in front of your house is important. The lawn is going to make or break the look of your house – it’s really as simple as that. If your lawn is all brown and patchy, then your home is simply not going to shine. With a little care though, a lawn can look magnificent therefore making your home magnificent as well. If you have a grass lawn all you will have to do is get some fertilizer every now and then, and some insecticide and mow regularly. That doesn’t sound like too much or does it?
To keep your lawn looking lush and fabulous you are going to have to take care of it. Lawn care and lawn maintenance does not have to be hard but it does need to be consistent. The very first thing that you need to do when you move into a new home or when you are having one built is to decide if you actually need a lawn. There are other alternatives such as clover.
Planting clover instead of grass will make your lawn care and lawn maintenance much easier. You will not have to worry about fertilizer as much and you will not have to mow it even a fraction of the amount you would if you planted normal grass. And clover is a natural insecticide. This is nice because many people prefer not to lay down insecticide because much of these chemicals are not good for the environment. And let’s face it, fertilizer is a giant pain in the butt, not to mention that it can be pretty expensive.
Yes, clover seems to solve most of the problems that people have with their lawns. Easy lawn care is the key and with clover you have practically zero lawn maintenance to worry about. Easy lawn care is especially welcome in places where it gets super hot in the summer. No one wants to be dragging around a mower every few days in 100-degree weather. Cumbersome lawn care and lawn maintenance is virtually eliminated when you choose clover instead of grass.
If you still want a plain grass lawn you can add some clover seed to the grass seed. This will help to act as a natural insecticide and fertilizer. This kind of addition is easy, cheap and it will save you tons of money and work when it comes to lawn care and lawn maintenance.

Warning: If You’re A Woman Over 25, You Should Eat These Foods To Prevent Diseases That Claims Most
29 April 2009
Do you keep your health care plan in the fridge? It’s not a bad idea actually because if you pick your foods the right way, you can pack heart disease, colon cancer, osteoporosis, and diabetes prevention all in a day’s worth of groceries.
Heart Disease It kills nearly 500,000 women a year. The American Heart Association warns that heart disease, including stroke, claims more women’s lives than the next six causes of death combined. Yet few women realize their risks for heart disease.
Hip 30-something singer Toni Braxton thought her chests pains were just from parenting stress before she discovered that she had heart disease. While the singer is OK now, she’s getting the word out about heart disease as the spokeswoman for the American Heart Association’s “Go Red For Women” campaign.
If you want to be heart smart, you need to be food wise. For example, according to the Tufts University Health & Nutrition Letter, a diet loaded with whole grains may lower your risk of developing heart diseases.
Another clinical research from the Archives of Internal Medicines found a link between increased dietary fiber and reduced blood pressure. In short, more fiber may reduce hypertension and thus lower the blood pressure.
Where to get fiber and whole grains: Apples, grapes, celery, whole grain bread and cereal (make sure that sugar is not a main ingredient), whole-wheat pasta, popcorn, barley, oats and oatmeal, rye, corn, brown rice, bulgur or cracked wheat, and wheat germ.
Colon Cancer The fiber gleaned from a whole oat rich diet also reduces the risks of developing colon cancer. Similarly in animal studies, selenium has shown anti-cancer benefits. Researchers from the Harvard School of Public Health noted that calcium limits the development of rectal lesions, which could become cancerous.
Where to get calcium and selenium: Broccoli, bran, brown rice, cottage cheese, garlic, onion, Brazil nuts, molasses, eggs, yogurt, celery, tahini, kidney beans.
Osteoporosis Are you going to scream if someone else tells you to drink your milk to make your bones strong? While calcium has hoarded the spotlight for osteoporosis prevention, Dr. Alan R Gaby points out in the Townsend Letter for Doctors & Patients, that magnesium, manganese, and zinc are just as important in the fight against osteoporosis.
Where to get them:
Magnesium: Almonds, bran, oat, hazel nuts, pecans, lentils, sunflower seeds.
Manganese: Avocado, walnuts, pineapple, buckwheat, parsley, spinach
Zinc: Cheese, raw cashews, egg white, sunflower seeds, macadamia nuts, wheat germ
Diabetes Christine Gerbstadt, M.D., R.D., spokeswoman for the American Dietetic Association suggests limiting your risks for diabetes by consuming orange and leafy green veggies. Adding on a high quality fiber rich cereal can also limit your risk for diabetes.
Where to get orange and leafy green veggies: Spinach, yams, papayas, peppers, rich green varieties of lettuce, lemons, parsley, cilantro
Here’s a final reason to stash your health care plan in the fridge. A finding presented at the Annual Scientific Session of the American College of Cardiology that analyzed the records from 2,857 heart attack survivors treated at Michigan hospitals found that men had a better chance of surviving after treatment than women.
One reason for this could be that the women receive less one-on-one sessions with the doctors or nurses before going home. The lesson here is to put health in your own hands before you even need to use your health insurance.
Increase your chances of beating heart disease, colon cancer, diabetes, and osteoporosis now. It’s as easy as buying apples, beets and carrots. I’ll see you in the produce section.
A Computer And Internet Glossary
29 April 2009
When you use computers and the Internet in your business, it’s all too easy to start feeling like you’re drowning in a sea of nonsense. Computer-related things tend to have a language all their own, and while you don’t need to know all of it, there are many confusing words and phrases that you’re going to come across sooner or later. Here’s a quick primer.
Bandwidth. Bandwidth is the amount of data that your website can send each second, as well as the amount of data that the visitor to your website can receive. If either one doesn’t have enough bandwidth, then the website will appear slowly. For this reason, you should choose a host with plenty of bandwidth, as well as testing that your site doesn’t take too long to download on slow connections.
Browser. A browser is the software (see below) that visitors to your site use to view it. The most popular browser is Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, which comes with Windows.
Cookie. Cookies are data files that your site can save on the computer of someone who visits that site, to allow it to remember who they are if they return. You will find that problems people have in ordering from you will almost inevitably be related to cookies — they will need to have them turned on.
Download. Transferring data from a website to a computer.
Favourite. A favourite is a website that a user has stored to look at again, by choosing ‘Add to Favourites’ in their browser’s menu.
FTP. File Transfer Protocol. This is a common method of uploading (see below) files to your website.
Javascript. A common language for writing ’scripts’ on websites, which are small programs that make the site more interactive. Another common cause of problems for visitors.
JPEG. Joint Photographic Experts Group. This is the name of the most popular format for pictures on the web, named after the group that came up with it. If you want to put pictures on your website, you should save them as JPEGs.
Hardware. Hardware is computer equipment that physically exists. It is the opposite of software.
Hosting. If you’ve got a website out there on the Internet, then you’ll be paying someone for hosting. It is the service of making your site available for people to see.
HTML. HyperText Markup Language. A kind of code used to indicate how web pages should be displayed, using a system of small ‘tags’. The ‘b’ tag, for example, causes text to appear in bold, and the ‘img’ tag displays a picture.
Hyperlink. A hyperlink is when a piece of text on a website can be clicked to take you to another site, or another page on the same site. For example, if clicking your email address on your website allows someone to email you, then your email address is a hyperlink.
Programming. This is when the computer is given instructions to tell it what to do, using one of many ‘programming languages’. Programming languages for the web include PHP and Perl.
Server. The server is where your website is stored, and it is the server that people are connecting to when they visit the site. If someone tells you, for example, that your server is ‘down’, it means that your website is inaccessible. Note that server refers both to the hardware and software of this system.
Software. Programs that run on the computer, or that make your website work. Microsoft Word is software, for example, as is Apache (the most popular web server software). Opposite of hardware.
Spider. Don’t be scared if a spider visits your website! Spiders are simply programs used by search engines to scan your site and help them decide where it should appear when people search. It is good to be visited by spiders, as it means you should start appearing in search engines soon.
Upload. Uploading is when you transfer data from your own computer to your website. For example, you might upload your logo, or an article you’ve written. Opposite of download.
URL. Uniform Resource Locator. This is just a short way of saying ‘web address’, meaning what you have to type in to get to your website. Sometimes pronounced as ‘Earl’.
